At The Texas Theatre

Programmed by Barak Epstein • Tickets & Info

Co-Presented by Women in Film Dallas

Dallas, TX – March 23 -  The award-winning documentary The Faithful: The King, The Pope, The Princess makes its highly anticipated Texas Premiere at the historic Texas Theatre in Dallas on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 2:30 PM, co-presented by Women in Film Dallas. Filmmaker Annie Berman will be in attendance for a post-screening conversation with Bart Weiss, award-winning filmmaker, founder of Dallas VideoFest, producer of Frame of Mind on KERA TV, host of the podcast The Fog of Truth, and author of Smartphone Cinema.

Winner of the Best Essay Prize at the International Festival of Films on Art (Le FIFA), The Faithful is a visually rich, 20-year odyssey exploring the enduring devotion surrounding Elvis Presley, Pope John Paul II, and Princess Diana. Through an intimate lens, the film examines the profound connections fans maintain with these icons and the ways in which memory, celebrity, and faith intertwine in the modern world.

In Dialogue with the Princess Diana: Accredited Access Exhibition

The screening comes at a moment when Dallas-area audiences are engaging with the Princess Diana: Accredited Access Exhibition at the Arlington Museum of Art, an immersive experience celebrating Diana’s life through official photographs. In contrast, The Faithful offers an unaccredited, independent perspective—one that explores how fans, rather than institutions, shape the cultural afterlife of public figures.

A San Francisco Chronicle Pick of the Week

“Ruminative, haunting and strange..” – The Boston Globe

“Brilliant. This documentary is experimental film at its finest.” – Book & Film Globe

This special one-day screening offers audiences a rare opportunity to engage with the filmmaker and discuss the film’s themes with Bart Weiss, a leading voice in independent cinema and media education.
